Leak Down Kick Panel - Restored Truck

I am still working out all the small bugs on my truck and I took it on a 500 mile roadtrip in the rain and realized I have some leaks. The first is near the top of the DS windshield which I will put some silicone between window frame and new gasket. The other is my PS floorboard was soaked but I didn't see any rain coming in. There is a trail of water residue behind my kickpanel vent so it appears to be coming from above this. Could this be from the lower corner of the windshield, running down the kickpanel inside dash?

Could be but might be a seem on the firewall where the sealer has cracked and fallen off or rust through where you can't see. Depends on how far into it you got on the restoration. Some others from the rust belt can chime in that have been down that route before.

I've seen "restored" trucks have so much rust under the cowl that went down to the fresh air duct work. Leaked on floor real bad too.

Could be...I didn't cut the cowl apart to look just a clean out and POR-15. I only mention restored as it has all new rubber, glass, roof seam sealer, and VA installed which could all be causing leaks in that area.

I left the glovebox liner out so I could check for leaks on the passenger side with out having to lie on your back.

We had a new '69 Olds that had the same problem. I applied red food color with a small amount of water to various locations starting at the lowest level then upward until I saw red water inside the car. The water was coming down the A pillar caused by a gap in the roof sealer in the gutter above the A pillar.

It is likely that you have just the leak from the seal. The water is leaking out from under the window seal where it meets the dash as well as the driver's side. The dash has several weep holes in it to let condensation drain to the floor. My Burban is in the shop right now getting the windshield resealed to stop this. Not the best picture but I've tried to indicate the weep holes. The water on the dash on mine was almost invisible as the water exited the seal less than 1/2" from the weep hole.

I had a similar leak. Turned out to be a couple of issues. First the overlapping metal that make up the bottom side of the airbox was not welded properly. In fact the spot welds never took and left a huge gap of about 1/8” that was just filled with seam sealer. That area started rusting and combined with the dried out seam sealer in the same area of the rain gutter created a big hole and I had to remove the inner cowl and a 3”x4” area just above the glove box liner. Still haven’t had time to complete the repair, but that leak and horrible seam construction created a similar leak on mine.
