Is this normal?

A chevy with front fender eyebrows and a chrome lip along the hood?

yes on the higher optioned trucks. Base trucks did not use the molding pieces.

By the way, the guy has removed his bowtie from the center of the grille and the "chevrolet" letters from the front of the hood.

I like how the Blazer looks with a 68 front clip.

The chrome molding was offered as an option sometime in 67 and was standard in 68.Sidemarker lights are standard on 68.
It seems not many 67's got the bright trim since most trucks were still considered work vehicles.

The extra chrome molding around the fenders and hood is unique to the 68's. I've seen base models both with and without the chrome molding so I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. Longhornmail (man) said a while ago that there was a dealer installed kit that could be purchased for the 68's to upgrade the front end to chrome. 68's with chrome should also have a white face instead of body color.

No sir, I don't like it. Hey, I gotta be honest. Forget the whole whacked off top, the front end of the truck just looks kinda "funny" to me.

The chrome is okay when the truck is two toned, IMHO. Give them a sort of shark mouth look.
