What to Do with Suspension and Driveshaft?
I have a Turbo LS 66 C10 with Air Ride Suspension and Single 3.5" aluminum Driveshaft. Put down 502RWHP at only 8psi boost...Currently running 10psi.
I want to be able to lay frame and keep good power. I plan to run the truck at the strip a few times a year, so I want to know if I can go with a 3.5'' 2 piece shaft, or is there another crossmember that allows the Single shaft to go all the way up next to the floor? Im just lost with how to get this done. Another question is: Will the Air Ride suspension be OK for the drag strip? Would really like to hear from experienced people..Thanks |

Re: What to Do with Suspension and Driveshaft?
I think you may end up needing a constant velocity joint at the front of the drive shaft to keep the drive shaft happy wit the travel of laying frame and good ride height. This will be a power limiter if it dead hooks. The soft spring rates and the lack of travel with air bags will make getting it hooked up a bit challenging. Adjustable shocks will help. You can taylor how you run the truck to make up for the suspension if your out to just have some fun.
