Auto tilt question
My guess is its going to be fine, but … I have an auto tilt column stashed away and Im pretty sure its a column shift. Ill be using an auto floor shift though. Do I have to do anything to the internals or wiring of the column so it doesn't mess with starting, neutral safety .. etc?
The entire truck will have a new harness nose to tail. And I absolutely don't want to pay the extreme price of purchasing an actual floor shift auto tilt column.

Just don't use the neutral safety/reverse switch on the column. You'll need to use the reverse light connection on the trans as well.
If you get a new harness for a floor shift it should already be taken care of. The turn signal switch is separate from NSS & reverse lights. If you're handy with a welder and epoxy/filler, you can make your own floor shift tilt out of the auto one you already have.

If you can't find a manual shift collar you can modify yours. I removed the shift handle boss and indicator by hack sawing and grinding, cutting a couple of pieces of thin sheet metal that fit tight in the openings, and JB welding them in. Be sure to slip a thin piece of cardboard or metal down inside the collar to keep any JB Weld out of the inside of the housing. I wish I had taken more pictures. LockDoc
