292 up to 4l80

I've got a 292. I want to replace a 6.5 turbo diesel with it.
Looking to mate it to the existing 4l80.
It will be a low rpm cam build, not racing.
Can I use my diesel converter? It's a custom billet, built from Jake's in Texas.
I'm sick of fuel issues with the diesel, it's constantly down.
