Re: WTB: Automatic steering column
Hi Jeff, I have a really nice automatic column that I just acquired. It came out of a 65. I would have to have $300.00 plus shipping. The lower section of the steering shaft and rag joint are rusty, but the rest is very nice. I could send photos to you if you are interested. Thanks, Mike

Re: WTB: Automatic steering column
I completely understand. This is the nicest one I've ever had. I will probably be posting it in the for sale forum soon.

Re: WTB: Automatic steering column
For the turbo 400, you will need a auto column from a 1966 3/4 ton truck with 327 engine and turbo 400 trans. Only year turbo 400s were available in this series trucks. The column, frame bracket, levers are all unique to the turbo 400 in these year trucks, if you go factory. The correct 3 speed turbo 400 steering column is pretty rare and usually expensive.
Note: the turbo 400s have a straight shift lever at the bottom of the column, on power glides this lever is curved. Les |

Re: WTB: Automatic steering column
I do not know the answer, if other year turbo 400 columns will work, along with what modifications to the system, if any are needed. Have only used original columns. Good luck with your project. Other members have reported modifying newer turbo 400 columns to work. Likely it can be reengineered with creative parts.
