gear oil ?

Could someone tell me how may pints of gear oil a 71 half ton rearend would take? What weight would you recommend?

I always use 80w90 in mine. I'm thinking the rear takes a quart and a half of fluid...but i'm not sure

80-90w is the type of oil to use. As far as filling it up I would buy 3 pint sized bottles. Just fill up the case till you can just stick your finger in and touch it. Drive it for a bit and then recheck
