Brake Line Help
After tearing my truck down 10 years ago to do a ground up with it, I've lost my memory on some things and how they go. Along with ordering newer parts a few years ago on Black Friday specials, I want to make sure I'm doing this right.
WHAT I PREVIOSULY ORDERED 1) Willwood 4 wheel disc brake kit with the attached proportioning valve. Its part number WIL-261-13270-BK. 2) Classic Tubing line kit as attached, part number CST-CT1027-SS. WHERE IM AT IN THE BUILD 1) Disc brakes all installed. 2) Main line routing complete. 3) Trying to connect lines to the proportioning valve. QUESTIONS 1) Has anyone else used this proportioning valve? There is an adjustment on the backside that I assume is used to adjust the pressure for the rear wheels. 2) Please confirm, the from port on the proportioning valve is for the front wheels, correct? 3) And the rear port is for the rear, wheels, correct? 4) The brake line kit did not come with a TEE to connect the line of the M/C and then split to the left and right wheels. Anyone know where I can order this TEE?

Re: Brake Line Help
I believe that prop valve has two out puts for the front brakes. So you run two lines to the front brakes. Best to give Wilwood a call.

Re: Brake Line Help
I just ordered this same MC and Prop Valve. Shipped today. If it doesn't come with instructions I will be interested in what you find out. Call AZPerformance and Travis will know.

Re: Brake Line Help
1. I have one like this one. Yes, the knob is to adjust the amount of pressure going to the rear brakes.
2. Output for the rear brakes is on the opposite side of the knob. The other two on the bottom of the valve are for the front brakes. If you are using only 1 line for the front brakes, then one of the front output ports will have to be plugged. 3. Yes. (see answer above) 4. Should be able to get a tee from a local auto parts store. Here's instructions and a diagram of your valve. https://www.wilwood.com/PDF/DataSheets/ds715.pdf |

Re: Brake Line Help
Robotic,
What lines did you use from the PV? Did you make your own? Thanks for the input!

Re: Brake Line Help
I made my own lines out of nickel copper tubing. All the ports on that valve are 3/8-24 inverted flare.
I used 3/16" tubing for my front brakes and from my master cylinder. I used 1/4" tubing to my rear axle then 3/16" tubing to my rear brakes. |
