Question SB Pulleys

I've been trying to locate a 2 groove pulley for the crank for the 68 step side. Why does everyone say their pulleys want fit this setup?
I don't under stand it. The 350 small block is the same motor in all the GM cars and trucks right. What am I missing here. It can't be that hard to find this pulley. They are all over the net but nobody will conform they will work in the truck.
Does anybody have any info that would help me out are know why it want work???

My setup.
Double groove water pump pulley
Single Power steering pulley
Double groove crank pulley with a single groove for later to add AC.

I found this one and hoping it will work.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: SB Pulleys

No reason why it wouldn't fit, I've got a milk crate or 2 of pulleys sitting around somewhere in the garage. I've seen the lower pulley in 1,2 or 3 configurations, just depends on the SPID level

Re: SB Pulleys

That’s a short water pump only crank pulley.
Since Chevrolet cars stopped using these after the 1968 model year and Chevrolet trucks quit after the 1972 model year,... these are becoming rare.
I’m sure there are aftermarket versions of the same.
Long water pump pulley set ups are totally different and more easily found.

Yes I know this but why does all the sites that have the short water pump pulleys say they want fit a pre 73 setup with OE.

I understand that truck did have the long water pump so yes a short pulley want work but I call 4 different places and got the same answer. They want work!

I ordered the pulley I pictured and hope it will work with my setup.

Re: SB Pulleys

I played SB pulley musical chairs with my 72. Finally found a set that would work. I ended up with a 3 grove crank pulley.

Re: SB Pulleys

Should be no issue to run the pulley you have pictured as long as you are running a short style water pump with the correct short style pulley. I’ve run short style crank pulley‘s on small blocks all the way up to 1999 production with no issue, I think you should be fine.

Yes I agree. I had the 2 & 1 crank pulleys and 2 groove water pump with power steering on my 71 C 10 for years until I went to the LS motor. I have the same setup in my 64 SS Impala and no problems.

I just don't understand why all the vendors say this pulley want work. I don't understand it.
I guess we will find out Friday for sure though, it should be here then.
