8-lug D44 rotor and hub
Looking to do new wheel bearings and spindle bearings on my 72 3/4t Burb with a D44. Already have bearings, but need new spindles and decided to do rotors while I'm at it. I'm having trouble finding the rotor/hub put together, or failing that, new hubs to put on rotors that are readily available/easy to find.
It's an 8-lug, open knuckle, big bearing, with the old Spicer blue knob hubs. I can find pics online of hub/rotor combos, but they never seem to be in stock. Any ideas of better search terms to find the hubs themselves?

Re: 8-lug D44 rotor and hub
whats wrong with the old hubs ?
just pop the studs out with a press or brass punch and BIG hammer swap rotors and install studs . its done all the time . if your hubs are junk for some reason then its the used market . and if so i happen to have a set of the hubs in good used shape .

Re: 8-lug D44 rotor and hub
Haven't found anything wrong with the old hubs yet, just figured I'd replace it all while I'm doing the rest of it.
Edit: found these that look like what I have, but years are off. I need to check my axle tag to verify my info. I know the rear was changed to a '73MY 14-bolt in the 90s by a PO, but no record of changes to the front axle. https://www.partsgeek.com/kcscmsk-ch...-assembly.html

Re: 8-lug D44 rotor and hub
those are internal hub style like 1/2 ton and later 3/4 ton .
if your locking hubs or drive flanges bolt to the wheel hub then these will only work if you swap to the style spindle they use and bearings and new locking hubs or drive slugs . this part is NOT a normal change out part like todays newer stuff is .

Thanks. I hadn't caught that in the picture in the link. I have the other style that bolts on, external hubs. I'll just plan on getting some new rotors, lug studs, and press the old out to split the hub amd old rotor.

Re: 8-lug D44 rotor and hub
you will want to have the rotor turned after you install them also. i've never had one run true after installing. after truing the brake pulsing went away.

Re: 8-lug D44 rotor and hub
Thanks for that tip! Is a parts store (eg: O'reilly) turning sufficient, or should I look for a more specialized shop to turn a rotor/hub combo?
