It's amazing how just a steering wheel changes the look of the whole interior!
I agree - after all that work, spring for the stock wheel.

I'd rather see the red int go and keep the wheel. (Not that I like the wheel)
JMO though. |

I dunno? I think it looks semi-cool...Wouldnt be my forst choice, but maybe he just had one laying around. I myself have a mostly stock 71 and I have a wheel out of a 90 chevy and I like it alot.

Yeah....the interior needs to be all black! Or maybe grey...
I love stock wheels......nothing like the feeling of power i get from holding on to my 17" monster stock wheel

You guys really need to lighten up. Someone takes the time to build a sweet ride and it gets picked apart because "Oh my God it's not totally original!!"? By people who supposedly love all 67-72s? I could even see if it was a total junker or had truly distasteful styling, but you know any of us would be proud to have that in our driveway. Sorry to vent but this kind of stuff really gets me going fast.
John

So he has a steering wheel from the "wrong year." Big deal. Anyone stopped to think that the owner may actually LIKE his choice in steering wheels. I have never understood the mentality of "lets pick SOMEONE else's truck apart" just because its not how I would do it or because it doesn't belong to me. Give the guy credit, that truck is sweet and there is not a person here who wouldnt be proud-as-punch to own it ... regardless of interior color or model of the steering wheel. It is far nicer than MOST of the trucks I have seen posted here in the past. I have seen guys post pics of TOTAL JUNK on here and someone will say "SWEET TRUCK, DUDE" ... but post a pic of something nice and the "nit-pickers" come out of the wood work. You can't tell me this aint a sweet ride. Last edited by Shane; 12-07-2003 at 01:45 PM. |

John makes a good point. Also, it's lowered, has aftermarket wheels & tires, a tonneau cover, and the exhaust (tips at least) is not stock. So it's not 100% original. Sure looks nice, though!

column swap?
Do you suppose he just swapped out the whole column to get a tilt and left the steering wheel? Looks okay to me, if it works for him. I've seen lots of pics of Cavalier steering wheels used by folks on this board.
What I don't get, is the need for a tach with an automatic tranny. My Nissan has one, too. Now if the vehicle was set up for the quarter mile with a B&M shifter on it, that would be different. just ramblin, scott

Man I would roll that sweet black biotch in a "heartbeat". I love the red interior too. I would have to chunk those mats out as I go down the road though...
