Cool Gettin dirty [PICS]

Took a break from working on the truck and did something fun for a change...

Went through some decent mud and water. Didn't get any action pics of anything exciting though. These are pretty tame compared to most of the mud we got into. Since we were the only ones out there, we didn't want to push our luck and risk getting stuck either...

Thanks for letting us get dirty with you... Those look like fun pics. Slipping and sliding can be just as much fun as get in the deep stuff....

I'm sure it was a ton of fun, but I guess this is the reason I've never wanted a 4x4. I never could rationalize getting a real nice truck that dirty. This looks like something you would do to a piece of crap truck, not something as nice as yours.

LOL

That's the cool thing about mud. It washes right off.

I don't let it dry on there. We stopped at the wash on the way home and rinsed the under carriage and all visible mud off.

LOL! Who needs mud when you've got a foot and a half of snow?

Looks like a lot of fun, I'll probally have to take the toyota out mudding sometime, my truck will have fresh paint and will be a street baby by the time there is mud out there

Oh yeah...we did that Saturday!!

Came close to getting stuck...it's been years since I've driven in any serious snow when I lived in Alaska. We just don't get much here in the valley...but there was a foot and a half to 2 feet in the mountains where we got our Christmas Tree.

Dave: Nope no rub marks...and if you'll notice the neatly tied shop rag protecting my paint from the metal bungee cord hook

Oh yeah...tailgate chains....the worst...I hate em... Not because of the damage they do to paint...well that's bad...but because ppl hear you coming a mile away. But I guess they do anyways cuz my truck does have a distinct sound. Someday I would like to remove the chains and relocate the tailgate latch to inside using seatbelt latches and cable. I've seen it on a couple of trucks...looks pretty slick.

Thanks for sticking up for me Jeremy

Love it Loud: Thanks I'm pretty sure he's figured that out by now

I got my truck completely covered it mud once, windows, roof, everything. It was cool, until I realized after a couple days the undercarrige doesnt clean up very well. I dont think Ill be muddin again, unless its WHITE MUD! Just got a foot here on Friday, lots of fun! . You gotta watch out for the brown stuff(sand&salt ) though, its the #1 killer of 73-87's here In Connecticut.

That, is the reason I have not traded my 4x4 in for a lowered truck. I have had a real hard time keeping myself from putting a 4-sale sign on my K-5. Especially when I see all of the nice lowered short wheel base trucks on here. Down here in the south, if it's not cold and wet, it is hot and dry. So we are either in the mud, or at the beach. I need 4x4 for either one.

Heather, thanks for helping me keep the 4-sale sign out of the K-5, Until I see another pic of a short dropped truck again.

yea crroy i wish my truck was 4wheel but being the only guy out of my group down here thats never gotten stuck i feel like ive got a 4 wheel drive. out of my 86 1500, 77c10, 84 toyota, and a 97 dodge 2500, i went threw the mud like almost touchin the body deep and not get stuck. and the fun thing is i did it all with low profile tires.

Until then you could get some with the chains wrapped with clear plastic or rubber. (these are on TwinTurbo's truck)

Both the chain and hook are sleeved in plastic and they are stainless so they don't rust.
