235 vs. 261
I picked up a '62 Impala with a 235. Are there any advantages to putting 261 rods in it? I know that the 261 had wider rods.

Re: 235 vs. 261
I had to go over to Stovebolt to check. According to the Post Tony made (post 44045) the small end of the rod is a larger diameter and requires special pistons to use with the rods. That would be due to a larger diameter wrist pin.

Re: 235 vs. 261
Why do you NEED wider rods? Are you thinking a 235 is going to be a max RPM engine? lol
PS: Why are we talking about Impalas on an AD and TF truck forum?
