seat spring replacements

has anyone ordered the 68-72 side spring replacements from bills truck shop? I ordered the replacement springs from classic industries and they don't look
like they will fit, match or line up to the side springs without twisting them and possibly having to cut a chunk out of the new foam. the springs pictured on their web/catalog look to be correct not the generic zig-zag spring I have.

Re: seat spring replacements

I ordered from usa1 not classic industries. the video on repairing the springs shows a totally different spring than what they sent me. shaped to match up to the original seat springs.

Re: seat spring replacements

I used the side springs from Bills Truck Shop to replace the broken side springs in my 71 c10. The replacement springs fit perfectly and the seat is firm on the side again. I would recommend the springs to repair a seat with “side sag”. I was able to snag some clips from a local upholstery shop but they are available online also.

Re: seat spring replacements

thanks for the replies! I looked into the springs you mentioned $14.95 each and $20.00 shipping quoted, usa1 industries had the same spring for $5.95 and 11.00 shipping. I ordered 4of them yesterday. what part of ohio are you in? I ran over to resto-world in Dayton Monday to pick up my seat foam/cover and several other parts. they have been very reasonable on their pricing and customer service has always been excellent for the past 10 years I've been doing business with them! highly recommend anyone looking to order parts to check out their web-catalog at resto-world.com

[QUOTE=68bbc/20;8685903]thanks for the replies! I looked into the springs you mentioned $14.95 each and $20.00 shipping quoted.

The high shipping has something to do with the new tariffs according to the website since they are in Canada.
I’m in Akron but I am from a tiny village in eastern PA called Molino. Molino is about 12 miles south of Pottsville, home of Yuengling beer.
I did my seat last year and it turned into a fun project and I hope you have the same experience with your seat.
