Lower control arm bushing issue - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I don't know if anybody has had as much trouble as I have had regarding lower control arm bushings trying to figure out what the front end of my truck came out from as a donor front end I have a 67 C10 short box Stepside the front has been updated at one point to disc spindles in upper and lower control arms well I'm redoing the front end bushings ball joints tie rod ends all the works drop spindles and none of the parts stores where I live have been able to figure out what it came out from so I can put in new lower bushings we've tried everything half ton from 76 through 87 pick up and the bushings that they have gotten for me there's too much play when I slide the shaft inside of the bushing if anybody can help me and I would much appreciate it I only have a picture that I can post as to maybe someone might know what these might come off of. Once again ANY help or advice would be much appreciated

If it's a GM control arm it should have a number stamped on it somewhere.

I know you said the front has been updated. But have you tried parts for a 67 to 72?

Years ago I updated my 1970 3/4 ton to a 1/2 ton just using 2 inch drop spindles for disk brakes. Every thing else I replaced was factory parts for a 1970 1/2 ton.

Those are half ton square body parts, 73 and up. How sloppy is the center bore with the control arm shaft inserted? As I recall, the bushing gets pressed into the arm but the center bore is tight only because you run the nut down. So it shouldn’t be super snug.

The A-arm appears to be 71-72...Do you have pics of the original shaft and bushings? Look up part numbers (Moog K6147) or (ACDELCO 45J0017) and see if those shafts don't match yours... https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...shaft+kit,7538
