69/70 Grill Verse 71/72

Between the 2 grills witch grill do you think has more value or more less common to find. I know there is a little difference between 69/70 grill. Thanks

Seems like the 71/72 is more common than the 69/70. The surround is the same on 69/70; the insert is a little bit different.

Re: 69/70 Grill Verse 71/72

To me, the most "valuable" pieces from the whole 69-72 grille equation are:
a) an original 69-70 outer grille surround (because the repops and even some NOS have the vertical black trim line outside the turn signals, whereas only originals had the two slim horizontal trim lines that extend out toward the headlights)
and
b) an oriignal 70 inner grille (because they are not reproduced - only the 69 eggcrate is reproduced, even though they are often marketed as "69-70", there is a difference, as you both have pointed out above).

Re: 69/70 Grill Verse 71/72

Don’t quote me but I do remember reading somewhere that 1970 was the lowest production year and 1969 was the highest. Either way, the true ’70 grilles are hard to come by.

Cool Re: 69/70 Grill Verse 71/72

I used to not be a fan of the 69/70's but, after owning one for 10 years I prefer them over the others now. I believe an excellent 69/70 outer is hard to find, I have an NOS outer and inner 69 (paid 35 bucks for both) and the box tag says 6/23/92 yes it's nice but, its not excat like Jocko mentioned above and, no it's not for sale lol.
