Front Brake kit from Summit

Has anyone used this kit from Summit. I bought it last night and hoping everything works well on my 70 C10. Just looking for some thoughts from people who have actually used it. Thanks!

Re: Front Brake kit from Summit

Can’t help with feedback on that part, but I am a big fan of Summit’s house brand parts. Always feel like I got more than my money’s worth. Many of the parts are excellent OE branded when you get the box open. I would think that was a good buy. Looking forward to your feedback.

EDIT: In reading further, questions about the kit were answered by CPP. With ECE gone, they are probably as good a source as any.

Re: Front Brake kit from Summit

Listing indicates these are six lug rotors, even though image shows 5 lug,,,,also note drum brake wheels will not work with this kit....the rim usually hits the caliper...

Thumbs up Re: Front Brake kit from Summit

Yea the Kit shows 5 lugs but it's for the 6 lugs. Most 15" wheels want fit with the new disc brakes.

Notes:
Includes upgraded 2.5 in. drop spindles, bearings, seals, spindle nuts, dust caps, banjo bolts, and brake hoses. Rotors have 6 x 5.5 in. bolt pattern. Factory drum brake wheels may not work with this brake kit.

Let us now how they do please.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Front Brake kit from Summit

You got my interest peaked as this is the next step in my truck "get back on the road" project. I had chosen ECE but this exact kit is now on my list of choices so I am VERY interested if you pull the trigger on it.

The main complaint I see is many people say there are no instructions included. I can see how that would be a shortcoming but there is no shortage of instructions on line if you need them.

Re: Front Brake kit from Summit

So I did buy it bit its going to be a little while before it will be fully installed and operational. My truck is a 6 lug and I wanted the 2.5 inch drop spindle. Only issue I am worried about is if they will work with the 15x8 rally wheels. I see people all the time with these wheels and I would assume the work. Fingers crossed.

Re: Front Brake kit from Summit

If you have the 15x8 Rally's from a square body 4x4 truck they will work fine. It is the drum brake wheels that have issue.

03BlkZ,
You and I are working down the same path my man. You are a bit ahead of me as the IRS raided my C10 fund.

I have five six lug rally wheels I am going to get powder coated and am seriously looking at that exact kit for my truck. Will probably go ahead and do the power steering conversion at the same time.

Keep us posted.

My truck is almost completely disassembled right now. We are doing tons of work but having a blast working on it. Can't wait to get it back on the road hopefully by the end of this year.

Re: Front Brake kit from Summit

I received all components yesterday and they look really good. They seem heavy duty and well made. I will update with some pics hopefully next week.

Re: Front Brake kit from Summit

Update! Today I went ahead and reinstalled my control arms and disc brakes. I have to say that so far I am pretty impressed with the fitments of everything. We had zero issues installing anything. It all went right together with no modifications. And I also checked and my 15x8 rally wheels do in fact fit without any issues. So far I would highly recommend this kit.
