Purchase Surprise

Just wanted to start a thread to see what surprises came with a purchase that you did not expect. Last week I purchased K20 GMC truck without actually going to see it only from a few pictures viewed. When I received the truck the two bonus items that were on the truck that I did not see in the pictures were factory tow hooks on the front and in the bed of the truck was a full-size toolbox full of tools. The pictures never revealed the tow hooks and the bed of the truck was full of snow so I never saw the tool box.

Re: Purchase Surprise

Good surprises! That sure is a true ranch country truck there. What color is it, Dark Olive? What options?

Re: Purchase Surprise

That is really cool! My only surprise was a gangster RAP CD in the cheesy stereo unit. And, I bought it from a 91 year old - so that was sort of strange..

Re: Purchase Surprise

The grill guard is aftermarket. Dealer installed type. So it would not be on the spider. I have the same one. S company close to me built mine.

This one has been put into storage after removing the grill guard and tow hooks. I am currently working on the 69 K10 From the Field now that the 68 Second Chance was sold.
Updates coming soon on the K10. Also always hunting and looking for more projects, love this part of the hobby.

I like it, I need to clean mine up and see if there are any maker marks.

Re: Purchase Surprise

I’ve gotten two pairs of Vice grips, a screwdriver, 14 cents, and a rusted out can of spray paint from my truck!

Re: Purchase Surprise

I got a snap on flat blade screw driver from between the radiator and a/c coil on my 70 as a teenager. My 67 had a new points, condenser, and rotor kit in the glove box that was purchased many years ago and I used them to get it running.

I want to see some photos of the tool box and tools!
