Do any members run a GPS speedometer? One the sits on the dash or mounts in original cluster? If in the cluster, how was installation? Any suggestions on brand?

If you get a cable converter from Dakota digital, around $350.00. I think they have gps capability as well as vss signal.

That would allow stock speedometer. The speedometer would need to function correctly as well as be spot on with calibration.

Hope this helps. Doing an actual electric speedometer conversion in the cluster is very expensive. If your not concerned with stock cluster then Dakota or Classic Instruments is my choice.

I have an Intelletronix analog dash panel that I'm using with a Dakota Digital GPS receiver. It took some effort to get working correctly but once I figured it out it has been working fine and is very accurate. I've found that if I disconnect the battery for any reason it will take the GPS 10 minutes or so to boot up and the speed to display correctly.

I installed the speed hut gauge set in my 71 C 10. Its a easy job and it is dead on the mark. No matter what size tire no matter what gear you drive it and it's dead on.

I used the VeeThree gps that is sold by a bunch of others.
Installed it under dash close to a vent in an older truck(50) and it works good.
It converts gps to a pulse signal that the gauge wants.

I've used autometer phantom gps in my '80 c10. It works great. I have a gps app on my phone that I compared to a certified speedometer in a cop car along with their radar system. All three were exactly the same, so then I used the app in the c10 to verify the autometer and it reads the same.

Kind of a crappy picture, but this is the cluster assembly after I got it all modified.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
