Another Ashtray Question
I have my original 71 ashtray (just the removable part). My dash is not original as I removed it from a 68 anniversary truck since I wanted the AC dash. According to what I have read, only the 67's have welded in ashtray's, but mine is welded in. The ashtray I have and the dash portion I have match up, but I am missing one side of the "rail" for the ashtray to slide into. Can just that part be purchased? Hoping I don't have to remove the spot welds and put a whole new setup in. I'm not seeing where you can order just the slides or whatever they are called.

Re: Another Ashtray Question
I believe it's all one piece. Bolts to the dash and the tray slides in.
BTW, if you can find a 72 ash tray they work great, no ball bearings to lose. |

Re: Another Ashtray Question
Mine isn’t a ball bearing setup. It is like the one pictured above. I was hoping I could find the guide to install for the missing one I have so I didn’t have to replace the whole thing

Re: Another Ashtray Question
I don't really know about the 67-68 trucks. I have owned a couple over the years but never messed with the ashtrays. I do know the 70-71 models came with ball bearings and the 72 didn't. I put a 72 ashtray in a 71 once and the part in the dash was all one piece.
