Talking Headlight upgrade

I decided to finally pull the trigger and upgrade the headlights from halogen to led headlights. These are the older 7 inch 8700 jw speaker headlights. Same as used in military hmmwv or jeeps. I had to cut the bucket behind headlight just a little. Than I premiered and painted it black.( It could be cut more because it still sits inward a little do to roundness of headlight but it still works perfect just gap in front bothers me.) These came with a different plug fitting so I cut and made it work for now until I get different plug. No additional harness or changes to your wireing other than the single relay to each headlight for max output from brother or any other company out there. But I searched around and hopefully after this and the video on youtube of a guy doing it hope it all helps.

Lightbulb Re: Headlight upgrade

Lets see some night time shots of the differences in light out put by both system's to see how it improved. Did your head lights have the relays in before the LED light swap?

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Headlight upgrade

I did the exact thing on Phyllis, except my LED Headlights have a DRL in them. Almost the same truck too!

Re: Headlight upgrade

Those headlights on the blue truck I've used before on my trucks at work (army), they work great.

I did have the relays before and because this whole covid19 I haven't been driving in dark recently. And I haven't readjusted them but I'll tell you its 1000x better in a hmmwv or matv. And I turned them in at dusk in this truck and man it was amazing. I'll take night time picks soon.
