Leaking power steering ram,'67

Is there a rebuild kit, or are the power assist rams available for the '67 power steering units. Mine started leaking at the spot the steering arms ties in to the tie rod. Also, should there be play in that spot? It seems like that is a control valve for the ram, and should move back and forth to work a piston/pistons to allow hydraulic fluid into/out of the ram. Is that how it works in a nutshell?

No idea where you would get them, but it probably just needs the seals and stuff replaced.
Not too bad of a job really. You could talk to a local hyd repair place and see if they can get you a repacking klit.

Is that this one?

67-78(?) Corvettes have the same thing and I think they are interchangable and can be ordered new.

I think there is a Corvette place out of Justice, IL that sell rebuilt ones for about $80 exchanged.

I believe GMC Paul has the rebuild kit (other vendors probably have it also). For that matter, Advance Auto parts shows kits and rebuilt units for this stuff also (you will probably need to tell them you have a 70 Corvette instead of a truck). It will be the same parts for a similiar year Corvette. Here is a link to a company that does exchanges for a decent price. http://www.melroset-tops.com/power_steering.htm
