Might be a stupid question, but.
I have installed a new rear mounted fuel tank, new fuel hose and a new fuel filter before the fuel pump in my ’67 stepside. Will the stock 327 engine mounted fuel pump be able to pull fuel from the tank through the new line and filter? The tank has a top mounted fuel outlet and the fuel line is a -6 hose. The truck has not been started for a few months so I know it will have to crank for a while to start, it has always done that even after just a few weeks being idol. Do I need to prime the fuel line or am I just being paranoid?

Personally I would prime the system. Cuts down on unnecessary wear and tear on the engine and starter.
My first choice would to use my Mighty Vac vacuum tester to pull fuel to the pump.

My 3100 has a blazer tank in the rear and the mechanical pump on the block. I use a squirt can to squirt a little fuel in the carb to get it running. Usually once it runs for a few seconds it’ll prime the system up pretty quick.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try 57taskforse's option first, if that fails I will se if I can prime the line using the syphon method.

I really should put one of those in both my carb cars, they both have the same problem. Or I could just drive them more, LOL,

I put some gas in the front float bowl and a bit down the carb. It fired right up and after a little shaking the fuel finally got from the tank so I was paranoid. Thanks again.
