POA Valve

Holy schmolly! I was digging through pops stash and found a new expansion valve, then got looking for a new poa. Nope. So I started looking for one online. 450 bucks! I read here the delete kits are not the way to go, so I guess I'll use the original?

The Delco Brand is serviceable and can be recalibrated... IF... it's good, it is not rebuildable if it's toast. It will have a brass body.
The Fridgidare Brand is rebuildable, it has a thin metal body with a ring or flange about halfway.
Old Air Products has a service for this but is quite pricey roughly $275 plus shipping both ways.

I found a Fridgidare on ebay that was used, not rebuilt but had been tested, cleaned and recalibrated to the 134R, works perfectly for roughly $100 to my door.

And lastly, save your sanity and do not put that P.O.S. POA upgrade valve in....it's junk and your compressor will cycle constantly. I learned the hard expensive way.

Thank you Sheepdip. Yeah, I was reading the posts about the upgrade valve and the problems. But man! Those prices are nuts. I have the one on the truck that I just decided to use hoping it's fine, and 2 or 3 others I can use as spares (if they are good).

I looked at old airs page, but it looks like they have not updated it in a long time. No prices or anything to see. Maybe a different old air?

And DavisChevy, that looks tooooooo cold for me!
