1969 C20 front shock question
FWIW this might be worth moving to the 'stupid question' section if there is one...
I searched the forums and the internet in general but couldn't find an easy answer... Checked LMC diagrams and images and can't find this bolt. It is supposed to be holding the shock to the frame, i assume... i got under the truck and noticed the drivers side is not connected at the top... based on the passenger side, it doesn't look like there is a bracket, just bolted to the frame. Is this bolt available and just not in the shock section of catalogs/websites? When I ordered replacement shocks, they each only come with one bolt? are the top and bottom bolts the same? are they to be reused? is there a missing part where the frame is that the shock should bolt to? TIA! |

Bolt should come with the shock.

Re: 1969 C20 front shock question
but only one, so the idea is to always reuse the lower bolt? why wouldn't they just give you another bolt? seems like you'd want to replace both bolts with the shocks...
based on the pics, it looks like it came out of the frame but the nuts are still on the bolt... is that even possible? |

Re: 1969 C20 front shock question
I've bought the bolt before. Forget where I got it from. On my 89, I used a regular bolt from Home Depot.
bolt head - washer - frame - washer - nut - washer - shock - washer - nut

Re: 1969 C20 front shock question
Looks like you need new shocks anyway. The bottom bolt can be sourced at any hardware store. If any help I think this same configuration was used up until 87

Re: 1969 C20 front shock question
If your frame is worn or cracked enough for a new shock bolt.
I got these off a later model K series truck with factory dual shocks.

Re: 1969 C20 front shock question
If Kilroys or Reibes can't help you out, I got this one you can have. Not sure if it came off the 20 or 10 or if that even matters. I'll check back this evening.
