Steering Column Ideas

Hello People,

Looking for opinions. I am doing a high end 67 Short bed in Victory Red. What are your thoughts for Steering Column ? I have a nice factory OEM Tilt that could be disassembled and painted to match truck or does anyone have pros and cons of buying an aftermarket (high end) column. Here are parameters if it makes sense

1. Custom New LS 327 Motor

2. Victory red with NEW Mar-kay 67-68 Body side moldings

3. Early Classics Dropped Spindles with Early classics drop crossmember

4. Stock suspension otherwise

5. Truck is a cruiser not a race truck

6. Teaser Pics attached

I would use a stock tilt and paint it interior color. From the factory I think all tilts were black. I don't know anything about the aftermarket tilts but I have read about some problems with the Ididit tilts on here....

Truck is lookin' good. I like Red!

Re: Steering Column Ideas

Fun fact GMC calls victory red, fire red. Same paint code just different name. My 07 classic is Fire red. As for the column a nice rebuilt original will be the best in my opinion.

Re: Steering Column Ideas

We have several members restoring and selling original tilt and non tilt columns. Randy 500 is one. He does nice work. He probably has a couple listed in the classified ads right now.
