Transfer Case Wire Question
I have a 1978 K25 that was a TH350/NP203. It was converted to a TH400/NP205. My question is what is the purpose of the wire that went to the 203-a dash indicator? If so, is there a spot on the 205 for this wire; or should I remove it?
Thanks, Marvin |

Re: Transfer Case Wire Question
If it’s the same wire I’m thinking about, it was used to indicate on the dash that the truck was in 4x4. The eary 205s dont have this feature but I believe the later 73+ cases had the option for the light, I don’t believe all the later cases got the light/switch though. I do know the 4x4 shift rail is different between the cases with the light switch and with out. Any idea approximately what year your 205 is?

Re: Transfer Case Wire Question
The switch goes in the shift rail detent spring/ball/plug hole. I have a 205 with switch on the bench now. I'm not sure the switches are available. Might try a micro-switch on the linkage somewhere.
I googled it... https://torqueking.com/product/30048...icator-switch/ Last edited by franken; 04-24-2020 at 12:41 AM. |

Re: Transfer Case Wire Question
Thanks Franken. It looks like I need to go searching for the male plug in wire. This will probably be hard to locate as 205s are not near as common as 203s.

Re: Transfer Case Wire Question
It looks like A standard GM weather pack connection. I would just buy a switch and go to the junkyard. It looks about like the under hood plugs from an 88 up TBI truck.
