Instrument panel restore
I am in the process of restoring my instrument panel and was wondering what the best process is for cleaning the clear plastic piece with the green numbers and writing. I am afrain I am going to mess it up. Also has anyone ever cleared over both sides of it? Mine is kind of hazy looking so I thought maybe clear would help.

Re: Instrument panel restore
I cleaned the painted side with windex and polished the other side with acrylic polish.

Re: Instrument panel restore
Odds are that most of the damage is on the outer surface which is fairly easy to deal with and may be enough. You have to be careful to avoid all lettering on the inside. Years ago I bought two Meguiar's products and have had very good luck doing exactly what you are wanting to do. The products are M17 Plastic Cleaner and M10 Plastic Polish. The cleaner is used first, followed by the polish. I place the lens lettering down on top of a soft towel and apply it to a soft cloth and thoroughly "buff" the face of the lens. That should remove most moderate damage. I follow that with a similar application of the polish. If the backside still looks like it needs work the same process can be use. Just avoid the lettering.

Re: Instrument panel restore
The inside I just used water and a micro fiber cloth . Outside I use Mothers power plastic and the power ball to polish it

Re: Instrument panel restore
awesome! Thanks for the replies. I am sure like you said most of the damages are on the outer side. I will try these methods. Thanks again.
