Wood bed finish
What is the best way to finish my wood bed? I can't remember what I used before, but it is easily scratched and pealed in a couple areas. plan to pull the bed out and sand down and reseal.
Thanks Chris

Mar - k has several tests they have performed over the years. Most comprehensive I've found.
They are here, about the middle of the page. http://www.mar-k.com/index.php?p=tips-and-tricks

Danish oil. I just redid mine. Any of the oils are good and can be done every couple years to keep the wood from cracking. Urethane and other sealants tend to crack if the truck is used and in the sun a lot.
I was told to use this brand by a professional wood worker. He uses this on all his stuff like house shutters and all that are in the weather. He said it is a better mix than what you can buy at a lot of the bulk-box stores.

Re: Wood bed finish
Clear coat will crack after a while, then you will have to sand it off to be able to redo it. Anything gets a hard surface like paint or urathane will not flex with the wood and will crack, especially if it is in the sun.
