steering wheel swap

Hi guys, long time lurker here and first time posting.

I have a 78 chevy c10 and want to swap the steering to one out of a 99
suburban but i'm not sure if it will fit.
Anyone knowif it will fit on the 78?
I'm talking about the air bag wheel.

Re: steering wheel swap

What Pontiac said. Airbag style columns/wheels use a different spline than earlier ones. If it was a 94 or early wheel it would work.

Re: steering wheel swap

IIRC - most pre air bag GM steering wheels use the same spline/bolt/horn setup. So a Pontiac wheel will mount on a Chevy column. It may not match style wise however. Just be sure to get ALL the horn parts.

When I picked up a replacement steering wheel for my 75, I test fit 3 on a wheel-less column before picking one from a Blazer. I liked a Pontiac wheel but it had a square base that didn't match very well to the round Chevy column.
