Dually front wheel conversion

I am not knowledgeable about duallys .
I want to put dually front wheels on a 1/2 ton for an upcoming project .
What is involved in swapping them ?
I have found a few parts vehicles and need to know what all front end parts to remove from the dually to install onto the 1/2 ton.

Thanks I’m advance guys . 👍🏼

Re: Dually front wheel conversion

3 options

all custom work

old school conversion kit from way back in the day

or dana 60 front from a 1ton with DRW hubs on it .

and if your talking 2 tires per side on the front the 10 bolt will NOT like that at all as the axle as a whole is not rated for anything close to that . and even the 60 front from a 1ton was not ment to be setup like that .

Re: Dually front wheel conversion

I'm guessing you mean 2wd instead of 4wd?...with a single front wheel from a dually on a 1/2 t
Like K30 said ..sounds like a lot of custom work...what's the plan ?.
Are you just wanting 8lug rims for the front?...a 2wd dually has a really long extended hub...
Not sure if the a-arms would "bolt on" to a 1/2t chassis...I'm betting not..
The easiest way would be do it from the a-arms out...complete assmebly...
still would need fab work I'm betting..
I doubt the spindles would work on 1/2t a-arms...
And the dually rotors wont fit the 1/2t spindles
never seen anyone do it before
And if the dually a-arms are longer than the 1/2t that may create more issues to swap from a-arms out.
Some back story on what your wanting to accomplish would help...

Re: Dually front wheel conversion

Could you link the specific one your looking at...I didnt see what i think your wanting..
Am I thinking right that you have a 5 lug rotor and want to mount a 8lug dually front wheel on it?
So youd need a 5lug to 8lug adapter for a dual rim?

Re: Dually front wheel conversion

The ball joints are different so you would need control arms out. Probably all the tie rods and steering as well.
SWW has been around forever. The dually adapters are 8 lug to 8 lug.
If you are going with 22.5s the C30 brakes would be a big help.

Re: Dually front wheel conversion

Yeah..that's just a 8lug to 8lug spacer...
If you could somehow swap to 3/4t 8lug rotors with that spacer, it might work..
But I'm betting 3/4t rotors wont fit your spindles either...

Re: Dually front wheel conversion

You would need something like this ... https://www.ebay.com/i/173184791952?...oaAiuUEALw_wcB
And the spacer....
Personally I would never recommend running all that...to much going on...
Way to many bad things can happen trying to use adapter/spacers..all that leverage tourqing on 5lugs isnt worth the liability

Re: Dually front wheel conversion

just a heads up all the 1ton stuff is a LOT bigger and stronger even the frames .

so explain what you are trying to do and with what current parts ? then maybe we can help dial you in a bit better on whats needed .
