Rain gutter

I'm planning on using 3m 08307 self leveling seam sealer on my 72 rain gutter/drip rail and was wanting some input on how many cartridges it will take.

Not familiar with what you’re using but I used a full calk gun cartridge of roofing sealer to fill mine. Don’t know if that helps.

Was thinking of doing the same, don't know if its the same 3M number but the products that Napa had in stock it would take 2 most likely.

I only used one 200ml tube of SEM sealer on my Burban. So I believe one should be more than enough for a pickup.

I used maybe 3/4 a tube when I did mine. Also sealed up the floor to firewall seam with the same tube.

I used the same 3M sealant for my gutter. I was a little over zealous and filled it probably too much. I used just a bit more than one double tube. Knowing what I know now, I could have done it with less than 1 double tube.

This is the stuff i used per body shop recommendation. wont sag or run on vertical seam. Used 1 caulk tube

Seeing where the seem is verse the bottom of the gutter looks like to me I'll have to fill it up at least 1/8 so it will stay above the seam and hide the spot weld marks in the valley.

I jacked the rear end of my truck up as high as I could get it to help even out the flow along the front of the rail. So maybe I should have just did it with the wheels on the ground. Might have been able to not use as much to get the effect you describe above.

I will tell you this though. It sets up quick after it stops flowing. So any tape, paper or plastic masking stuff needs to be removed within about 2-3 minutes. I had a thing area of tape that got set up under the sealer and I had to go back over it to seal over the tape. Luckily it will be painted over and no one but me (and now you guys) will ever know.
