2004 Head Swap
I have a 2004 Vortec 5.3L LM7 Truck engine with 862 heads. I found a set of rebuilt 243 heads, can i swap these heads with no issues ? The 243's have a larger intake valve and larger CC.
Thanks Craig |

Re: 2004 Head Swap
The 243 heads do flow better but the larger combustion chambers won't do your compression ratio any favors.

Re: 2004 Head Swap
Depends on what you call issues. Yes they will go on and work. With the tiny oem cam the higher flow probably won't help anything but the loss of compression will hurt.
