CLR Cleaning on my 71
I've spent the last few weeks doing some deep cleaning both inside and outside on my truck.
I have to admit, I was quite surprised by the CLR outcome. |

Re: CLR Cleaning on my 71
That's amazing. I wouldn't have thought CLR would do that.

Re: CLR Cleaning on my 71
It was something I found while on this forum.
I used 50/50 CLR and water and scrubbed the truck with the green scotch brite pads. I would do a small section say a fender at a time and then hose it off with the water so the CLR didn't dry. I didn't have too much to lose with my paint so I decided it was worth a shot. Start off with something inside the bed. I did a wheel well to see what it was going to look like. I started off scrubbing lightly and then a little harder to get my desired result. Once I was done scrubbing the entire truck, I gave it a really good hand wash with good soap and then waxed it by hand. I could've buffed it after the CLR to get a glossier look but I really like the flat blue look it has right now so I did not buff it. The wax should protect it for a while. |
