72 Highlander? What have I got?

I'm new to these trucks but I traded my 63 for this one today. Got to tell you I'm loving the power brakes, power steering, A/C, and highway capability of this truck! Going from a 3/4T on 37's with power nothing to this feels like a Cadillac.

I'm familiar with old trucks in general but the stickered options are new to me. Seems like "highlander" was an interior option. Anything else on this stick out as unusual or uncommon?

Thanks for any help!

Curtis

Thanks, I dont know why it turned that upside down. Here's what the interior looks like.

Re: 72 Highlander? What have I got?

Sorry about the orientation again, they're right side up when I load them. I think its still a pretty neat truck. Original is cool, but this is nice too. Anyway, I like it and I know there's a wealth of knowledge here. Thanks to everyone ahead of time because I know these threads will help me with any problems that come up.

Re: 72 Highlander? What have I got?

It's a YG8 Special Promotional Pkg "C" - the MacDaddy of Highlanders... which includes the plaid/parchment seat (choice of 4 colors), black carpet, automatic trans, power steering, a/c, tinted glass, and tilt - many of which you will see on your SPID. 68 bowtie was spot on for your color combo (deluxe two tone version of light yellow & white) and seat cover. Since your fender emblems are smoothed, note that it's a "Custom Deluxe" trim level (which all Highlander trucks are). Nice truck, looks to be in great condition. I personally hope you restore it to its former glory, but it looks great already - enjoy and welcome to the illness.

Re: 72 Highlander? What have I got?

The side trim was part of that package, it would have had Monte Carlo wheel covers, and Below Eyeline mirrors (DG4) from the pkg. The cargo light is a nice option on top of the Highlander pkg

Re: 72 Highlander? What have I got?

I really appreciate the info, I'd like to get at least the fender emblems back on there. I'd like to replace the side trim too, but repainting isn't an option for me right now. I love the yellow and white though.

Here is a link to the definitive Highlander thread on this site.. The original color Highlander combo on your truck is in my opinion one of the nicest.

Re: 72 Highlander? What have I got?

Here is one that I sadly sent to the shredder years back. The other one is missing the original glove box door unfortunately. This is one of the odd deluxe emblem placement trucks.

Janesville was the only plant (as far as I know) that centered the “Deluxe” emblem. So weird
