Big Back window conversion panel
Anyone interested in doing the little window to big window conversion, I just finished the cutting and fitment of the inner panel. This was very straight forward and the fit of this reproduction panel was factory perfect on my 64 GMC.
Kudos to Classic Chevy Truck for bringing a quality part to the market place. It was a tad expensive but there was no cutting or fabrication needed other than removal of the old inner panel and cutting the old rear window frame out. There were, it seems an endless supply of spot welds to grind away. Some good videos to preview if interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ature=emb_logo https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ature=emb_logo

Re: Big Back window conversion panel
Was the fitment at the seam with the roof good?

Re: Big Back window conversion panel
Yes, where the inner roof panel meets the inner back panel appeared factory fitted. I'll try and get a better picture in after it is completely installed.

Re: Big Back window conversion panel
Thanks for posting. Wish I had seen this last year or earlier...already too far along in my project to do it, but looks like a good alternative to what I have seen in the past. Looks a little less daunting than other methods too. Keep us updated on your project and finished pictures when you are done.

Re: Big Back window conversion panel
I have put my share of big back window section in 60-66 trucks. People have ask me how I get the top section to come together. I drill two hole on the inside of the dome light on each side. Then I put it in place mark the two holes and drill them you can not get inside of the dome light and drill straight threw the panel. Then put your panel back in place and get two self tapping screws and pull your top section together. If any of you need help pm me and I will try to help you out.
