'81 C10 Shortwide
Purchased it about a month ago. Has a newish crate 325hp 350 with 700r4. has a 4/6 Beltech kit. The drive train and suspension (needs new BJs and bushings) is solid but just about everything else needs work.
Have donor rockers and cab corners that came with the truck, just need to get em to my body guy. Have the LMC power window harness and new motors to go on hopefully this weekend, just waiting on wing window parts to come in as my drivers side leaks a bit. All I've done so far is replace the phantom grille with an '84 i repainted, upgraded from the nitro to the street perfomance shocks, and got new wheels in saturday. should have them mounted and balanced in the next couple of weeks when i land on tires i want. Think 245/60s up front and 295/50s out back |

You have a color planned?

Re: '81 C10 Shortwide
ordered tires today. went ahead and got 295/50s for the back. Discount Tire said if they don't work I can just bring them back and get the 275/60s. Going to be real close with that 4" BS on the back but there is a guy that has 3.8" BS and it worked, so just going to give it a go and see what happens. Should have them on Friday evening. I will report back with pics! Going with 245/60s on the front.

Wish the rears tucked better but overall improved the look and I can finally turn without the 235/75s on there. Install my LMC window harness and new motors this weekend and she'll be ready to cruise!

They cleared! Looks great, a new stance always makes a marked improvement.

Re: '81 C10 Shortwide
Looks great. Looks like the back of my truck and yours is about the same ride height - I am running 275/60/17 (30" overall) on a 17x9 with 4.5" of backspacing and they tuck just a bit, and have just enough clearance without rolling the fender lip.
I do really like the way yours came out, basically flush with the fender. |

Re: '81 C10 Shortwide
Got some interior work done this weekend. Went to manual windows and got a bezel and new dash trim. Previous owner had some ugly red krylon caked on. Hit the door panels with some spray paint to clean it up a bit until i decide on permanent route. Have a saddle blanket cover coming in this week too, again as a temp fix until I figure out exact route.

Re: '81 C10 Shortwide
here's a video of idle, like stated before, the drive train is solid, just need some aesthetic improvements. Bought a camper this summer so now that summer is slowing down I can focus my weekends back on the '81
