Original Power Steering Pump Mount Pictures.....

Does anyone have any pictures of how an original PS pump mounts on a V8? I'd like to see closeup pictures of the mounting arrangement. Any 60-66 setups Thanks.

Re: Original Power Steering Pump Mount Pictures.....

The pictures are tough to get on an assembled truck, but you'll notice that the bracket bolts with 2 bolts on the block (where the old school horseshoe motor mount went) and one on the front of the exhaust manifold. The tension adjustment faces backward and requires getting underneath with a 9/16 socket and a foot long extension. When bolting into the 2 bosses on the block it is imperative that you do not use a bolt that is too long because the bosses bottom out into the cylinder waterjacket and over torquing to long of a bolt can punture the jacket. (Unfortunately, I know that with absolute certainty.)

Re: Original Power Steering Pump Mount Pictures.....

Thanks for the pictures. I plumbed in new brake lines from the proportioning valve to both front and rear and routed them down over the frame adjacent to where the power steering pump is located. I was worried about clearance between the lines and pump. The pictures show that I have plenty of room.
I'm very familiar with the mid 60s power steering brackets. All short water pump setups were similar, and are getting harder to find. Thanks again.
