Will this radiator work?
This is a new radiator installed by the PO. I’m putting an L94 6.2 in the truck and wondering if I’ll have to get a different radiator. I’m getting close to having everything purchased for my swap and I’m trying to save on a few items here and there if I can, my funds are starting to run low. If I don’t have to have a different radiator that would be great.
Thanks |

Re: Will this radiator work?
My motor is out of a 2011 Yukon Denali. If I can find a stock radiator would that work for my swap?

Re: Will this radiator work?
I am using the stock radiator out of my 2006 Yukon in my 1980 C10. It fits perfectly. Just had to make an upper radiator mount but that was simple (I got the idea from someone else here.) Its a 34" core so its the wider version and still fits great. I actually picked up a stock replacement because the factory radiator from my Yukon, the trans cooler fittings broke off inside the end tank plastic. But it was still under $160. Keep in mind you'll have you use a surge tank as well since the stock radiators dont have a radiator cap (and hence, no where to fill or bleed) - and remember to fill the engine with coolant through the upper radiator hose. I have had no issue with overheating just filling through the upper hose and making sure the surge tank is at the appropriate level. It runs 192-194 even without radiator fans.

Re: Will this radiator work?
You can keep the radiator you have since it is new. I have 2 swaps. One with the donor radiator and one with the original style. They both work fine. Original style with clutch fan and only the lower shroud runs at the same temp as the one with the giant radiator and electric fans.

Re: Will this radiator work?
Looks just like my radiator I got on eBay.
It looks like you have a 67-72? If so, I don't know how the wider 34" core would fit. I thought about doing it too as the cores from 73-up are all about 34" and I like the options with stock radiators in for 73-up, but I didn't know a good way to make it fit in my stock core support.
