69/70 vs 71/72 Grill outer dimensions
I feel like I know the answer to this but ...
Can you remove a 69/70 grill and install a 71/72 grill with the only mods being how the hood latch is opened, meaning you have to have the center support and latch for the 71/72. My guess is its remove the old and bolt in the newer. Yes I know the bumpers are different only in the sense no parking lights in the earlier vs parking lights in the latter.

Yep. Switcho chango easy peazy, El Samo. They are exactly the same except where they are different … and all you need is the center support, latch, and turn signal/parking light harness for that grill.
You could mount up the parking lights behind the grille in the lower corners. That's how I had them on my '71 wrecker with push bumper (upper corners). The 71/72 lenses fit behind 6 sections of grille. But I do like those lights in the bumper. I put a '70 grille in a '71 K/20 when I put a snow plow mount and a bumper I fabricated on.
