Dash Knob bezel thread size?

Looking to add a knob to my cluster for my stereo install that will be the remote bass knob. Planning on custom fitting a potentiometer to look like a standard GM knob but I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what thread size the knob bezels use so I can get a panel mount pot that will mount directly with a bezel.

I'm not positive, and I don't remember ever seeing a thread size for them, but My best guess would be 1/2-24. I can't find my thread gauges but my 1/2 -20 thread chaser will start on the headlight fitting but stops after a couple of threads.

Just some thoughts.

Re: Dash Knob bezel thread size?

I checked a wiper switch with pretty poor threads and came up with 28 threads per inch. Definitely not 27 or 32 threads per inch. Due to the damage to the threads I was only able to check against about 1/4" of threads.

Re: Dash Knob bezel thread size?

Thanks for checking, looks like I can't find any panel mount pots with 1/2" thread, the largest I can find is 3/8". Guess I'll have to nut & washer the bezel to get the look.
