Inner fenders the same all years?

I want to take the nose off of my 71 C30 to replace some rusted parts.

I have a set of inner fenders powder coated and ready to go. I had it done so long ago though I don't remember what they came off of. I know the inners all interchange. Is there any way to tell the difference in years for the inners?

67-68 wont have the capture nut for the e-brake cable clamp on the driver inner fender. 69+ has the capture nut. Other then that no difference I've found. All the passenger sides are the same and most equally rusty

Re: Inner fenders the same all years?

On my dads 70 there were no access holes drilled in the inner fender to access the blower motor housing nuts. My 71 has holes drilled which makes heater core replacement so much easier. I don’t know if the holes are factory but they are well done if not. So that may or may not be a difference worth looking for.

Re: Inner fenders the same all years?

My impression that those 3 holes would have been done by a previous owner or the shop of the owner took it too
The more popular random dent in passanger inner fender is the one i have seen the most that was done for the same reason as the drilled holes

Just the capture nut due to e-brake change from 67/68 to the 69-72 design. Heater core access holes were done when that was replaced.

Good to know about the holes. I guess you can’t always curse the PO. 😁
