47-59 S10 master cylinder

I am using a stock S10 brake assembly under the dash. I have a 94 Chevy Astro Van hyro unit for the power mechanism. I put one on the Cherokee I did and it works great. Lots of stopping power.

The problem is that I need the push rod from a stock S10 master cylinder, the one that connects to the brake pedal. The Astro unit push rod has a larger connector hole and rattles around on the pin on the brake pedal.

So if anyone has an extra unit that isn't good anymore and would be willing to cut the push rod off, please PM me.

could you use a bushing for anti rattle and to take up the slack?

I am trying to test fit everything prior to paint and just noticed the brake pedal issue when I was reassembling it. I thought about a bushing, but have not had time to look for an appropriate size. I will look into that.

a lot of bearing/seal shops have generic standard diameter bronze/brass flanged bushings in stock which could easily be trimmed to fit your application.
as an example, these are plastic but bronze/brass is also available. plastic would be easy to work with. the hole in the existing push rod could be made slightly larger if required I suppose. would just need a few dimensions.

edit: no help, just a silverado that has the larger hole. sorry man

I'm not sure just what size bushing you may need .
Look around for those "HELP Cards" and those "door hinge pin & bushings" . . . . then, some of those bushings are bigger than others.
Just thinking out - loud . . . . .

Thanks Twinshadows, I got lucky and found a brass spacer that was the right size inside and outside, it slipped on the pedal pin, the brake push rod fit right over and it works. I extended the push rod about 5/16" and I'm happy with the fit.

Now I will keep your recommendation for next time, because I may not get that lucky next time.
