Leaking W/S Washer Tank

Noticed a small wet spot on the garage floor under our 05 Tahoe we bought in Dec. last year. Looked up under the Tahoe at the area drip is coming from and found this. Looks as if the black threaded collar is split maybe, not sure but constant slow drip coming from that area. Using a small magnetic pickup tool to point to the threaded collar and drip area. Anyone run into this before and best way to attack this for a cure? Very hot and humid right now, reaching near 100 today and next several days. Not looking forward to a big fix situation right now, hoping just remove the tank and replace collar maybe?

Re: Leaking W/S Washer Tank

Bad pump. Common problem.
You can replace the pump without changing the tank if the tank is in decent shape.

The SUV chassis have two pumps. The pickups have one.
You get the honor of pulling the battery and battery tray to get the tank out.

I have to replace my pump and tank just haven't done it yet.

Re: Leaking W/S Washer Tank

hatzie, thanks for the U-tube links on the pump and washer bottle R&R. Looks pretty straight forward, sure feel special that I have TWO washer pumps to consider. LOL. Guess will find out which one is the leaker when I get there. Not sure I will make that happen until it cools off here somewhat. The triple digit heat and humidity combo and I don't get along very well anymore.

EDIT: Are the two washer pumps identical replacements with each other, I suppose one for front windshield and one for back glass sweep wiper arm? Generic washer pumps suitable such as Autozone or O'reilys house brand? Have used Rock Auto a time or two with mixed results.

Re: Leaking W/S Washer Tank

I've been in Independence in July. It's brutal. Not as bad as Hotlanta but pretty rough.
