Suspicious FB Marketplace ad. No Title, Madison MN

Anyone know anything about this truck? Not trying to drag anyone through the mud. Just unusual comments about the title in the ad. Looks like some kind of dealer listed it. My guess is its a divorce situation or something.

READ THE POST BEFORE YOUR FINGERS START MESSAGING!!
C-10 Texas truck for sale as shown. V-8, AT, AC, PS, PB. All around a pretty solid truck, runs good and burns clean but needs carb work - truck has been sitting for awhile. General condition of the body is good with very minimal rust. This truck sells with a bill of sale - NO TITLE. Please don’t ask where?, why?, or how come? It’s a bill-of-sale only. MESSAGE ME IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING - I DON’T CARE ABOUT COMMENTS. DLR Less

That’s a bit of a basket case If you ask me. Look at the last picture the original rocker panel is shoved over with a replacement welded over top. The cab corner was probably replaced in a similar way Or even just mudded over rust. Missing door panels fuel tank in the top in the front of the bed. It has potential but it looks like it will be a project for sure. I wouldn’t pony up 5k for a truck with no title.

I would avoid somebody who says "don’t ask where?, why?, or how come?" If somebody doesn't want to discuss the legal sale of a truck, I would just move on.

Exactly my reaction when I read that. Don't tell me what questions I can and can't ask if you want my money

Re: Suspicious FB Marketplace ad. No Title, Madison MN

it is or was though new world salvage an outfit that sells rebuilder cars, trucks and bikes.

No title probably means that it came out of impound.

i've bought a couple of rebuilders that way. one had been inspected by the state as far as being stolen went when it was impound but we had to run it though the state patrol inspection to get a title. The other one was sold with salvage paperwork by an outfit that i think the State patrol put out of business not long after they inspected it. Basically the inspector said they were a bit on the shady side on how they were selling the cars. i bought the car with a blown up engine and when they inspected it he said he found evidence that it had been wrecked pretty bad at one time and repaired. i got rid of it because my wife got too many tickets in it.

Looks like the seller is a salvage dealer who specializes in classics and motorcycles. Just a huge flag as to why it does not have a title. I can see an abandoned vehicle or lost title but not for a vehicle that went through a restoration a while ago.
