Big Block Serpentine?
Is there a budget way to put serpentine belt system with a big block that has air and power steering?
I dont want to spend the money on one of the fancy aftermarket systems.

Re: Big Block Serpentine?
How about a serpentine system off a mid 90s Chevy truck? Lots of folks, including me, have done this for small blocks, it’s cheap and easy. Should work for your big block also. If you find a big block truck in the wrecking yard and decide to go that route get everything, all the little brackets, fasteners..... the serpentine systems are reverse flow from stock so you will need the correct water pump and clutch fan.

I used the KWIK Perf adapters to allow using the 88-95 SBC/4.3 serpentine set-up on a BBC. The only thing additional I needed was a water pump pulley spacer for improved (for me) alignment.

Re: Big Block Serpentine?
Didn't the last TBI 454 trucks/Suburbans have a serpentine setup?

That was the driving influence for me behind using the sbc serp set-up & adapters. Cheaper, easier to source, lighter, & cleaner/closer (tighter) to the motor vs. the BBC set-up.

I picked up a SBC serpentine set up for $50.00 Get one for a 5.7 and not a 4.3 and save your self a lot of trouble.

My set-up is technically off an S10 Blazers 4.3. Curious as the only difference I knew of was type of brackets (varied depending on year) & if they were equipped with or w/o a smog pump.

Re: Big Block Serpentine?
A member that has most of the parts I need reached out to me. All the brackets, New AC compressor, belt. I talked to Randy500 about it and he believed it to be a decent deal so I pulled the trigger with the member.
I have two pieces to order from kwikperformance and Ill need a reverse flow water pump for BB Chevy (which sorta sucks because I just bought a new stock AC Delco water pump). It was also mentioned I may need to change up the fan. Something Ill have to look in to.

Re: Big Block Serpentine?
.
I have some parts you may find useful from my conversion to electric fans... leftover was the rigid fan, spacer+bolts... It is a reverse rotation fan. EDIT: free of charge if you can use it CG -klb
