Anyone know what this sensor is?
I have a 2016 L83 8L90. I’m reworking my own harness. The sensor ( picture #1) has a loop that wraps around the negative battery cable. I assume it’s a amperage meter of some sort. I looks like the loop on a alternator load tester. It doesn’t run into the ECM, just to the BCM. That being said... I’m guessing that it doesn’t need to be part of the stand alone harness. Also was wondering if pin 48(blue connector) is the proper brake signal I’m going to need? Any help would be appreciated! I threw in the other 2 pictures so you can see what I’m working on.

Re: Anyone know what this sensor is?
copied this...
current sensor for the bcm Battery Current Sensor The battery current sensor is a serviceable component that is connected to the negative battery cable at the battery. The battery current sensor is a 3-wire hall effect current sensor. The battery current sensor monitors the battery current. It directly inputs to the BCM. It creates a 5 volt pulse width modulation (PWM) signal of 128 Hz with a duty cycle of 0-100 percent. Normal duty cycle is between 5-95 percent. Between 0-5 percent and 95-100 percent are for diagnostic purposes. Basically, It allows the charging system to charge only as necessary depending on the load put on the battery.

Re: Anyone know what this sensor is?
Without the GBCM hooked up the alternator will charge at a set default voltage, which I believe is 13.7. Will work that way but may shorten the life of the alternator.

Re: Anyone know what this sensor is?
Thanks... that’s what I figured. I don’t see it included in any of the reworked harnesses I’ve seen pictured.
