s10 parking brake
ok, for all you guys that have used an s10 chassis under your AD's, have you used the s10 parking brake pedal?
the reason im asking is that my stock AD park brake is worn out and im looking for a replacement. So - does the s10 release with a pull rod like the AD's or do you push the pedal to release? any info, ideas or pictures would be appreciated.

Re: s10 parking brake
dsraven - thanks for the info. i need one that releases by hand instead of pushing the pedal to release as a pedal release wont work starting on a hill with a 4 spd.
i cant tap dance that fast.

Re: s10 parking brake
I've got the pedal from some mid 70's GM donor car in mine and the S-10 is probably somewhat similar. I works well, I ran the cable down though the hole that the original brake pedal came up though which isn't the best idea for a clean floor but it worked at the time. I'm thinking it rand down though the toe board on the donor rig.

Re: s10 parking brake
Park brake actuator cable ran straight down through floor on the last s10 I worked on. Release cable is a fairly simple deal and could be made to fit your mounting needs by dabbing a new one from bicycle cable and a lever from something else if it turns out the original cable is too long or too short. Enev a mechanical release rod could be made to work. Just a thought.

Re: s10 parking brake
We are using the parking brake assembly from a 1993 S10. It has a separate release handle connected by a thin cable. the cable is too long, but it can loop up behind the dash so no issue. You will have to make an L bracket to mount the release handle. As noted, the S10 parking brake cable goes straight down through the floor. Then we ran the parking brake cable on the outside of the frame on the drivers side. We are using a Ford 8.8 rear end, so we have Ford parking brake cables in the rear, both run along the driver's side frame to the front along the outside of the frame on the driver's side. Then a U cable and bracket joins the front S10 cable and the two Ford cables on the driver's side frame, just behind the rear of the driver's side door. We made a couple of brackets out of angle iron to hold the parking brake cable sheathing ends.
