305 or 350

I got a '73 el camino for parts. According to the stickers it has a 350 in it. In order to feel good about selling it, I would like to verify that it is a 350. I have the numbers off the block on timing housing (front right of engine below right side head) they are 13k4348424 (smaller numbers) F1017CKL (BIGGER NUMBERS) can anyone tell from these? Thanks alot for your help.

1973 CKL 350 tur hydro, Calif - F A B
1975 CKL 262 Nova/Chevelle/Monte

If it is the origininal engine it is a 350....but it could be a 262 that someone placed in there. Better get the numbers off the back of the block to be sure. Somone would proably get pretty mad if you sold them a 262 instead of a 350, lol.

That's the same block I have in my 68. They're a fairly common 350, but fortunately it's a real solid casting. I like 'em because they often have 4 bolt mains and, given the age, they're well-seasoned.

By the way, the pad numbers (F1017CKL) tell us that it's a 350 cu in engine destined for a TH350 equipped California car. The engine was built in Flint Michigan on October 17th, 1973. Probably the original engine.
