Saw this at a local yard today

Just came in this morning. It’s a low option 72 C20. Gauges, 4 speed, rear overloads, power brakes, am radio and white/ochre 2 tone, with parchment trim. (Seat beasts and door panels are all that remain) the body is very straight with Minimal rust, the doors are rust free, there’s just a small hole in each cab corner, and a little in the drivers rocker. Couldn’t really see the floor supports but I suspect they are good. A lot of east coast guys would kill for a low rust truck like this. Shame to see it getting ready to meet its end. Interior was mostly gone, along with the good but mostly intact otherwise. I had to “clean” the side of the truck up because of a derogatory statement about law enforcement of which I’m a strong supporter. I was quoted $50 for the grill but it’s not in much better shape than the one on my K20.

It’s sad to see sweet trucks with so much potential being scrapped

I’m gonna go back and try and buy the truck tomorrow if the price is reasonable. Lots of good parts on it still for sure.

The good thing is that there are still a ton of them out here honestly. 4x4s are getting hard to find but I bet I know where 40-50 trucks are in different conditions off the top of my head. I seem to find new ones I hadn’t known about previously almost on a weekly basis.

Re: Saw this at a local yard today

I’m skeptical if they will be reasonable on buying the truck. I wanted to buy this K20 from the same yard back in early 2015. 6K was there price and it’s been sitting every bit of 15 years if I had to guess. The Majority of the interior is missing and there’s no air cleaner so I’m sure the motor is trash. The bed is also beat up pretty good on the passenger side. It’s sunk into the dirt pretty good. The complete picture is from 2015 the other is from early 2019. I’m afraid they will price it way more than I’m willing to pay but we’ll see.

Re: Saw this at a local yard today

I went back today and someone else scooped it up, which doesn’t really bother me as long as it doesn’t get crushed. I’ve got an eye on a another ochre and white K20 right now anyway.
